Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has had difficult relationships with a club’s hierarchy before, and it seems as though a conflict is brewing at Old Trafford.
According to The Guardian and other news outlets, the Portuguese coach is frustrated by the lack of transfers coming through the door.
It is believed that Mourinho wanted the majority of his targets sealed before the team flew out to the United States for the start of their pre-season tour this Sunday.
However, only defender Victor Lindelof has joined the Premier League giants, while deals for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic are stalling.
The Guardian claims that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, who is responsible for recruiting the transfer targets, raised eyebrows among Mourinho and his staff after recently flying out to New Zealand to watch the British and Irish Lions face the All Blacks in their first Test.
Mourinho, who guided United to two trophies in his first season in charge, is known to divide opinion, and it seems that he has done so again with the United fans.
