Muller has opened the door to a potential switch to the United States as the 35-year-old expressed keen interest in the American football landscape, praising its growth and hinting that his upcoming participation in the Club World Cup in the country could be a precursor to a future move to MLS.

While Muller stopped short of confirming any concrete talks with MLS clubs, he described the USA as a “particularly exciting” destination. With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon and growing fan interest, the veteran sees real potential in the league. His remarks suggest he may view the Club World Cup, as a personal trial run ahead of a possible stateside stint.
WHAT MULLER SAID
“Perhaps we can start a small football hype train, also with a view to the 2026 World Cup,” Muller wrote in his personal news letter. “I find the American venue particularly exciting…a lot of potential in US soccer. Let’s see how that feels."
Muller has also expressed excitement about other elements of Club World Cup: "The match against Boca Juniors in Miami will definitely be a highlight.
"As a European footballer, you don't usually get to play such traditional clubs. That makes a footballer's heartbeat faster."
