It’s rare to see Leeds fans criticise Marcelo Bielsa, but over the weekend the fanbase were far from happy with the gaffer.
Indeed, supporters took to social media to criticise the Argentine’s decision to leave Jean-Kevin Augustin out of the matchday squad.
The boss did address why he left the attacker out, stating that he wanted him to get up to speed with the team’s playing style, but one BBC Pundit wasn’t too happy with that explanation.
What’s been said then?
Ian Wright was talking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s The Monday Night club, and he openly critiqued Bielsa for leaving his new loan signing out.

He said (via LeedsLive): “But just going back to Augustin and Bielsa saying he’s not up to top speed – if you’re a striker, what speed do you need to be up to, to come up for ten minutes at the end of the game?
“I don’t think the way Eddie played suited Bielsa’s style and that’s why he went back. With Eddie as well, he was a substitute and whether he’s up to speed or not he came on changed games, he scored goals in those games.
“The way to get a striker up to speed to start is to get him on the pitch to score goals and then you get him up to speed. I just can’t go with that getting up to speed one, it just seems a ridiculous thing to say.”
He’s right
We hate to criticise a man once hailed as the greatest coach in the world, but Wright is spot on with this one.
Bamford was misfiring to some degree on Saturday as he had seven shots without finding the back of the net.
Bielsa could have done with having a striker to call upon from the bench for the last few minutes while they were chasing the game, but he chose to leave him out.
Ok, Augustin probably does need to get up to speed before he starts, but at 1-0 down against the team placed 22nd in the division, you want as much firepower as possible.
In other news, one man proved that he should be dropped on Saturday.
