According to Italian outfit Calcio Mercato, German giants Bayern Munich are interested in signing Tottenham forward Heung-min Son.
The Bavarian outfit, who have won the last six Bundesliga titles, are stranded currently in fifth place, nine points adrift of leaders Dortmund, and are rapidly seeking solutions to their crisis. They clearly believe that the South Korean is the answer to their woes this campaign.
Tottenham, on the other hand, have made quite a bright start to their Premier League campaign, sitting in third place. While Son did not play a great role in the opening stages of the season, due to international commitments, and appeared to be off the pace when he returned, he is growing from strength to strength. His masterful display against Chelsea at the weekend is a sign that not only he, but Tottenham, have turned a corner this season. The 26-year-old ran rings around Chelsea at Wembley, and looked to be at his elusive, energetic best. The only criticism of him is that he was unable to add to his one goal, as he had a number of chances.
Therefore, the interest from Bayern is justified, but seems unlikely to be enough to lure the player away from The Lilywhites. While Munich have the finances to throw at Son, that is about all the club can offer him and chairman Daniel Levy must know this. On the other hand, at Tottenham, he is not only under one of the best managers in world football in Mauricio Pochettino, but has been a key member of a squad that has evolved over a number of seasons; Tottenham are building something and Son will surely want to be part of that.
It just seems bizarre that Son- who seems to love Spurs with the fans reciprocating that love- would ever want to leave, and the fans should have nothing to worry about.
