Tottenham Hotspur fans were not best pleased with Kyle Walker when he decided to leave the club to join Manchester City last summer.
The right-back had spent eight years at Spurs having joined the club from Sheffield United in 2009.
It became clear that his future at Tottenham was in doubt when he was left out of some important games in the closing stages of last season.
Since moving to the Etihad Stadium, Walker has made 38 appearances in all competitions and has contributed with six assists.
On Sunday, the right-back will be hoping to play against Tottenham’s arch rivals Arsenal in the final of the Carabao Cup.
The 27-year-old has only started one game in the competition this season, but as it is the first piece of silverware of the campaign, manager Pep Guardiola is expected to field his strongest side.
Ahead of the match, Walker has spoken of his love for Spurs and part of him will be drawing on his allegiance to the club if he lines up against the Gunners in the final at Wembley.
The England international told Sky Sports:
“Spurs is a club which belongs to my heart and to get one over on their bitter rivals, and mine for a long time, would be a fantastic feeling. But it’s a game of football and anything can happen in 90 minutes. Spurs will always have a place in my heart, they gave me a chance to play Premier League football and I’ll be forever indebted to them.”
