Having arrived in a big-money deal from Premier League rivals Chelsea, it’s fair to say Nemanja Matic hasn’t exactly enjoyed the greatest of Manchester United careers.
The Serbia international has not been the same dominant holding midfielder that he was at Stamford Bridge, and reports last season had even suggested United players were questioning why Matic was continuing to be picked.
The 31-year-old has yet to feature this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and The Daily Mirror now claim the former Chelsea star is demanding “showdown talks” over his future at the club.
The report adds European sides are paying close observation to how the situation pans out, and have an eye on making a possible loan move for the Serbian this summer.
After hearing the update on Matic’s future, United fans took to Twitter to voice their concerns about the situation.
Many supporters of the Manchester side insisted the 6 foot 4 star simply could not be allowed to leave on loan, and questioned where their squad depth would come from.
